New Delhi: In a major diplomatic outreach effort, the Narendra Modi administration is getting ready to send delegations of MPs from different political parties to major international cities. Presenting India’s viewpoint on the recent Pahalgam terror assault and Operation Sindoor is the goal, which serves to further establish India’s status as a victim of persistent cross-border terrorism.
These delegations may soon start traveling, according to sources, as New Delhi seeks to thwart Pakistan’s efforts to internationalize the Kashmir dispute and address mounting international criticism, such as recent statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump calling for third-party involvement—an approach India has continuously opposed in favor of a bilateral framework.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and other pertinent government agencies will spearhead the effort, which will concentrate on delivering a unified Indian narrative on terrorism that originates from beyond the border. To support this diplomatic drive, the visiting parliamentary teams will collaborate with Indian missions overseas.
For the first time, a multi-party delegation of MPs is being sent by the Indian government to advance the country’s position on a delicate security matter, such as cross-border militancy and Kashmir. The unusual bipartisan approach shows a desire to raise awareness of India’s problems with terror organizations based in Pakistan.
