Virat Kohli Impresses in IPL 2025, Scoring 392 Runs in 9 Matches With 5 Half-Centuries; RCB Set to Seek Revenge Against Delhi Capitals at Home

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) opener and IPL veteran Virat Kohli has been in outstanding form this season, amassing 392 runs in nine innings, including five half-centuries. Kohli is on the verge of breaking an all-time IPL record as he faces the Delhi Capitals in the national capital. RCB will look to settle the score with Delhi after KL Rahul’s controversial Kantara celebration, which ruffled feathers in Bengaluru.

Kohli will have a chance to add to his impressive tally as he chases the record for most runs by a batter against a single IPL opponent. With 1,179 runs to his name against Delhi, Kohli is just 56 runs away from surpassing David Warner, who currently holds the top spot with 1,134 runs against the Punjab Kings.

Kohli became the second player in IPL history to score over 1,100 runs against a single opponent last week during consecutive matches against the Punjab Kings, and now has the chance to break his own record.

Kohli currently sits second on the Orange Cap leaderboard and will overtake Sai Sudharsan if he scores 26 runs against the Delhi Capitals on Sunday.

A win for either team will bring them closer to securing a playoff spot, with both sides aiming for 14 points, though RCB has played one extra match than Delhi. While the Capitals may face increased support for Kohli and RCB at their home venue, the team’s form in IPL 2025 suggests this shouldn’t be a major concern for Axar Patel and his squad.
