“A drone attack has caused damage to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, resulting in changes to the Pakistan Super League schedule. Learn more about the incident and its impact on the tournament.”

New Delhi: Drone strikes have caused substantial damage to Rawalpindi Stadium, leading to the relocation of all remaining Pakistan Super League matches to Karachi. Reports indicate that a drone targeted the stadium earlier today, prompting the Pakistan Cricket Board to alter the venue for the rest of the PSL fixtures. Consequently, the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings scheduled for May 8 has been rescheduled.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to host the remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Karachi, but is also exploring international venues. Dubai and Doha have reportedly emerged as alternative options for the final ten matches. Initially, the board had confirmed that the PSL would proceed as scheduled, but the May 8 drone strike on Rawalpindi Stadium forced a change in plans. Meanwhile, the Indian government has yet to release an official statement regarding the drone incident in Rawalpindi. Military sources confirmed that Pakistan forces carried out multiple strikes in Jammu and Punjab overnight and that India has responded accordingly.

On the IPL front, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering a venue change for matches originally set in Dharamshala. However, the game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals on May 8 will proceed as planned. Punjab Kings’ next fixture against Mumbai Indians will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All other Indian Premier League matches are expected to go ahead as per the original schedule.
