Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Admits Backing Terror Groups for U.S., Warns of Possible War With India

According to a report by ANI, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has openly admitted to supporting and funding terrorist groups. In a now-viral interview clip with Sky News journalist Yalda Hakim, Asif is asked whether Pakistan has a long-standing history of backing, training, and funding terrorist organizations. He responds, “We have been doing this dirty work for the United States for about three decades… and the West, including Britain. That was a mistake, and we suffered for it. If we had not joined the war against the Soviet Union and later the post-9/11 war, Pakistan’s track record would have been unimpeachable.”

In the same interview, Asif also warned of a potential “all-out war” with India, further fueling concerns about regional instability. His comments highlight Pakistan’s decades-long involvement with militant groups, according to ANI.

India Takes Strong Diplomatic Action After Pahalgam Terror Attack; PM Modi Vows Unimaginable Punishment for Perpetrators

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that the Cabinet Committee on Security highlighted the cross-border connections behind the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. The attack occurred shortly after successful elections were held in the Union Territory, signaling steady progress toward economic development. In response, the Central government has implemented several diplomatic measures: shutting down the Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Attari, suspending the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) for Pakistani nationals—who were given 40 hours to leave the country—and reducing the staff strength at High Commissions on both sides. Additionally, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, originally signed in 1960. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that those behind the attack—including its masterminds—will face consequences beyond their imagination. He emphasized that the time has come to dismantle the last remaining hubs of terrorism and that the collective willpower of 140 crore Indians will break the spine of those who spread terror.
